Well the FA Cup did not provide my first bet of the year. I've had a tiny bet on Davydenko for the Australian Open. He's reached the final of Doha without dropping his serve - 35 games held. He's just beaten Ferrer relatively comfortably for his first victory over a top ten player for two years. Another false dawn? Possibly, but worth a couple of quid each-way with Totesport:
