French Open summary

Thanks to Ferrer doing the business in his semi-final today, the French Open is a winning tournament for us. On the men's event we won 26.25 points (after all losing bets have been deducted including the ten point Tsonga hedge). In the women's tourney we lost 7.5 points (the only winning return being Serena's two sets to one win over Kutz). So a total profit of 18.75 points on the whole event.

You will notice that I have written the above as though the tournament has finished but of course we still have the matter of four points on Ferrer for the Championship @ 28/1. I have assumed this is a loser for the purposes of the above calculations. I will happily revisit the figures should the unlikely happen and Ferrer beat Nadal on Sunday.

Ferrer is currently quoted around 7/1 for the match - I thought he might be a 10/1 shot. At least Nadal had the much harder semi. The HTH is 19-4 to Nadal so not a lot of encouragement there! However the last two times they played (Madrid and Rome) Ferrer played very well in defeat capturing a set on each occasion.
